The Dallas Praise Group is a collaboration of amateur and
professional musicians joining their talents to bring glory and
honor to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We invite you to be a part of this mission experience. Our
purpose is to glorify and praise God through instrumental music.
Through the Dallas Praise Orchestra and various ensembles, these
musicians hope to touch lives and assist in missions by offering
their gifts and talents back to the Lord.
Another goal of the Dallas Praise Group is to serve as a source
of encouragement and Christian fellowship for church instrumental
musicians.

The Dallas Praise Group Brazil Mission
Trip!

Dallas Praise Orchestra,
This is just a note to tell you a little
about your mission project to Curitiba,
Brazil, June 9-18, 2009. I have been a
part of 6 mission projects to Brazil and
specifically, 3 to Curitiba. Curitiba
is a beautiful European styled city. It
is very clean and you will find the
people there to be very warm and
gracious. I have to tell you that the
food there is wonderful as well and I do
take my food seriously.
Well, enough of that. We will be
working with Jim Davidson, a dedicated
missionary in Curitiba who is also on
the faculty of a university in Curitiba.
He teaches music there and this is his
platform for sharing the gospel there.
Jim is a fine musician. He is an
outstanding conductor and excellent
trombonist. Jim also served as a
minister of music in North Carolina
before moving to the mission field.
Because of his extensive musical
background, he has a great knowledge
about using music teams like yourself to
advance his strategy of reaching the
lost in Curitiba and of building up the
body of Christ there. You will love
working with Jim.
The purposes of your mission project
there will include:
- Playing and teaching at a large
church music conference called Louvacao.
There will be over 1000 church
musicians from all over Brazil attending
this.
- School concerts where you will have
the opportunity to share the gospel with
students.
- Playing and connecting with other
Brazilian musicians who may or may not
be Christians and investing in their
lives musically and spiritually.
- Possible concerts in public venues
where you have the opportunity to meet
people and begin relationships for
sharing the "good news".
You will also have special opportunities
to see the surrounding beauty of the
area so you will understand more of the
culture of Brazil. It is a beautiful
country with beautiful people.
I can tell you that this will be an
extraordinary and life changing
experience for you. I am thankful to be
involved with Global Missions Project
who has the mission of taking music
teams on mission projects like this one.
You don't have to learn anything new.
Just take the talent that God has given
you and use it for His glory. He will
take care of the rest.
I know it may not be possible for all of
you to go on this project. However, do
not let finances be an issue for this.
I highly encourage you to get onboard
and begin raising support for this
project. Please allow others who cannot
do what you can do to contribute and be
a part of this mission effort through
you. GMP has some great information on
funding your way on their website. Just
go to
www.globalmissionsproject.com
and click on the "Resources" tab. We
have so many great testimonies of how
God has provided a way for many of our
participants.
God bless you and guide you as you
consider this incredible adventure for
God. I hope to see all of you take your
musical gifts to Brazil to be a blessing
and to be blessed.
